Just wondering, with PH being the lair of all things fast and sporty, whether anyone has plans to go to the opening round of the FIA GT Championship at Silverstone? It's the Tourist Trophy and its meant to be billed as a 'Supercar Showdown'

I'd have thought it to be the perfect place for a PH meet up!

I'm going, along with 3 mates - Tickets booked, just need to sort the camping out.

Been pretty much every year for the last 7 or 8 years - wouldn't miss it.

15 of us are going from the viper forum, if silverstone ever sends the tickets

looks like some great racing with 54 cars entered in GT and GT3
a few shots from the media day last week, nice to see such a mixture of sports cars

Anyone else camping for this?

If so where are you staying?

Was looking to book Whittlebury park (golf club).

Me and the missus will be there on Sunday because its fits in nicely with my next weekend off (bloody Tesco make me work 2 weekends in 3). Can't cope with camping though I am afraid.

Hopefully we will see some of you there.

Cheers,

Ray.

Keith, what places do you tend to favour at Silverstone for good shots ?

Silverstone's a bit of a 'mare for photography unless you have a long lens. 400mm at least or a top quality 300 and a willingness to crop. The fences are a pain.

Best angles without a doubt are from the Luffield Terrace. With a 400mm you can get 2 or 3 different angles just by moving a bit.

You can also get some good stuff down at Club (or thereabouts) and from the Bridge & Farm enclosures. Again, longish lenses are needed.

Luffield.

Bridge

Club

All of those are at 200mm and the 1st & 2nd are cropped, so i think you'll see what i mean about long lenses...
