996 Turbo - louder exhaust?
Discussion
Hi guys
B-in-law just got himself a mint 2000 996 Turbo. Awesome machine and he's really pleased. However, having previously had a C4S with the sports exhaust, he is just a bit disappointed by the noise.........
Suggestions?
Oh and the other thing is whether anyone knows of a good source for OEM satnav/carphone equipment that he could try in order to upgrade the basic system...??
TIA

OEM 2 options really, fit a Becker SatNav unit, same size as the standard CD player, goes in the same slot, so no big colour screen etc, but very easy to use & voiced directions. Had one in my Boxster & was pretty good. These can be fitted easily I am told.
Or get the proper PCM system installed with the colour screen etc - which will cost £loads£ and unless he is keeping the car for many years probably isn't worth it.

I got a used GHL motorsport exhaust for sale £900+shipping (costs $2995 new). Its in VERY good condition and you can see fotos and info on www.ghlmotorsport.com and if you're interested email me at francisco.santos@jrsantos.pt and I'll send you a pdf document of some independent testing (done by Stephen of Imaginauto) of some of the aftermarket exhausts for the Turbo including the ,RUF,GHL,Europipe, etc. which he says good things about it. You can also do a search on 6speedonline.com and will find a lot of info on performance exhausts.
