I've got a 360 Spyder for a few days. Any tips or advise you've got versus my 996 Turbo would be much appreciated...

unless its v dry dont turn off tc.

comfort mode too intrusive, better in sport mode.

ignore the exhaust sound (with roof up sounds ok) can be resolved with tubi.

cant think what else you'd need to know, its v twitchy in some conditions so be v careful otherwise just err, drive, i guess.

Having driven the 360 for the past ten days I have really enjoyed it and would definitely like to own one ...but only as a weekend toy. I feel that the 996tt is a more accomplished car and more suited to my needs (reasons in this thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=259287&f=48&h=0) but the 360 has something special about it.

I simply adore my spider - it's that whole Ferrari thing - whilst the Porsche (and don't get me wrong, I'm a major Porsche 'nut' and believe that the 993 is one of the finest 'driver's cars' on the planet) offers easy access to sublime power and everyday usage, the ferrari hits the spot on so many levels; it is heart- stoppingly beautiful (I think), a challenge to drive well in sport mode / asr off, sounds fabulous, and, I'm guaranteed 'week knees' every time I drive it! Simply, every drive is an event - Yeh, some would argue that a 996 tt is a more accomplished car, but I've never particularly wanted to get up early and open the garage door just to look at a 996 turbo etc., etc.

I think without doubt as an everyday car the 996TT hits the spot.

One can understand the special feeling one gets with something a little more exotic however ferrari lost the plot looks wise after the 355 and the 360 to me never hit the same spot looks wise or in capability, in extreme it gets excitable- resolved with the 430.

Whatever rocks ones boat I suppose- I found the more you use the car as an everyday driver beit ferrari or anything else one looses the feeling of it being special.

i think the 360 looks better than the 355 and the 430. But the 430 is simply stunning to drive, a big leap over the 360.

Lot of 360 knockers around, i think its a fabulous motor car which is why i have decided to keep mine, albeit with a few upgrades when i can find time and afford it ! F1 gear box upgrade, Tubi and the permagard treatment.
