can anyone point me in the direction of dumping a zetec in my jeep, the pinto currently sat there is def past its best and all the ancillaries look likewise, i have a sierra type 9 box and i know the bolt pattern is the same as the zetec engine, and that the rear drive spigot will fit the modern engine, but wandered if someone already had one fitted, the idea appeals to me because you can pick up a 95 or 96 escort, or mondeo for virtually free now, from ebay of one of the salvage websites and ancilary bits are stupid cheap, zetec engine mounts i believe are the same as the cvh, but as my shell is currently 6 miles from my chassis i can get to everything quite easily, also the zetec isn't as long as the pinto so i would imagine that radiator fitting would be made easier, your wise thoughts please!!!!!!!!! sorry not seen one in a geep
but if you look at a few 7's and compare pinto and zetec installations looks nice and small compared to pinto chris's cvh gas sammi is a nice installation too
ideal lump though as cost is zero to get engine

thanks for that, you jogged my memory actually, i have a friend with a westfield which runs a cvh, so i can have a look see at his, i know pinto is a nice motor, but like you say, any ford will donate a cvh for nothing, which will wind the cost down even further, thanks

However it is the front mounts and altenator that pose the problems when fitting a CVH and presumably a Zetec. Even the CVH fitted in the Sierra has Offset mounts.

If you do fit a CVH Zetec (unless you want to get into some serious engineering) you will need the flywheel and clutch from a 1.8 Sierra - makes mating the box to engine easy.
