I see the 'eurocrats' are at it again....anyone any idea what the 'Melt Factor' is?

Any vehicle with more than 5 panels......... (presumably some Euro MP's son is a boy racer so this new law won't be applicable to his tin box with four fibre glass arches and a spoiler).....ie kit cars it seems must be deemed to be protected from the effects of the 'excessive heat' syndrome.

'Adequate measures' must be taken to prevent 'Melt Down' of glass fibred vehicles, and also to protect the 'Driver and Occupants' from breathing in toxic gases from overheating glass fibre.

I think they've got their calculations slightly wrong as 'Temerature Sensors' must be set at 32.5 degrees centigrade...at which point 'Adequate measures' will then come into operation (ie automatic extinguishing systems) Closed vehicles (Open vehicles exempt) will be required to allow it's occupants access to 'adequate' breathing aperatus which conforms to EEC regs etc.,

Yet another example of those 'in power' not having much of a clue as to what happens in the real world

you are spot on when you say,"those in power havent a clue about the real world"its the same with so many things!!!!!!it makes my blood boil as they are a law unto themselves instead of asking us the people/tax payers to make to make decissions,i better end it there before i fill up this whole post with my reply!
