Just changed the o/s front wheel bearing on the VT as it had a distinct grawnching noise under left cornering load with feed back through the steering, turns out its still there!! , everything else seems to check out fine on the car, any ideas ??

Could be on the other side? Bearings don't always fail at the point which is loaded on the outside of corners. Could even be the rear bearing. If it's bad enough to warrant changing you should be able to feel it at the hub.

My brakes were binding and making a bearing kind of noise. Apparently they get dirty easy. Just pull the pads off clean up the calipers and refit. See if that makes a difference.

sounds like a top mount bearing......you might be lucky and it just needs cleaning.

Thanks guys, im at my wits end on this one, all brakes have been done, we could never get the bearing to make a noise when checked manualy, to check the rear will require removing the driveshaft, but it is distinctly on the right front under medium to hard left cornering, i think the strut top thing is favourite, its funny, i said to the mechanic it could be strut top mount as we'd run out of ideas, and he said to post the question on here. Will check it out at work on Monday and let everyone know the outcome.

Any more ideas ?

Changed the N/S bearing last year for noise and recently changed out the O/S, the hub got really hot after a period of (traffic jam-less) motorway driving and also got vibration after hard left hand cornering. Brakes were not binding and there was no un-even tyre wear. I also had to changed out the propshaft due vibration throughout the car in any gear, in neutral and clutch depressed - seems to be OK for now!, but not cheap!
