Track Day 'stuff'

Yes, I know I should use the seach facility, but that looses that 'personal' touch

Doing a Novice Track Day evening at Brands on Wednesday (anyone else going?) and just wanted a quick heads up on things like tyre pressure? Obviously top up fluids. Recommended fuel load? Half a tank? I assume there's a petrol station close to Brands and that I can get out to fill up while the session is still on?

Ive got a couple of instruction slots booked so hopefully I'll be a little better at driving the Cerb on and near the limit come Thursday morning

Drop the pressures a few psi. Check them after a session to see whether the temp has put them back to what they should be and drop again if necessary. I'd fill it up with fuel just before you arrive. You'd be surprised how much you go through, even on the brands indie circuit.

Theres a petrol station either side of BH - but like Phil says, I would fill up just before you get there.

Might pop down to see you if the weather & work are ok

I know Southampton is South of Brands but its still light down in the sunny South at 8pm you nonce

Besides, a fair few of us from PH did a trackday "scare the passengers sh1tless" event at a certain army base from 8pm - 10pm last year and that was on an unlit circuit

Ive got a brand new pair of track day silencers from ACT in the boot, and very impressive results they are too. Lent them to slvrcrb last month for the novice track thing at Brands, same as tomorrow's one, and IIRC they didnt even test him. He has a decatted sports 4.2 which is pretty loud, but Im taking silencers just in case.

Hi Nick,

Have fun on the trackday. Only advice (obvious stuff really) is don't put your handbrake on in the paddock after a session, not that they work anyway, and if possible try to do a cooling down lap at the end of each session with minimal braking.

I always check fluid levels and tyre pressures before and after each session.

Cheers ceejay. The time is nearly upon me and Im now starting to poop myself. The smell in the car is 'orrible
