GOOD NEWS STORY

Picked up my new 911 from OPC East London (private sale but sitting there after 111 point check). Service from Leigh was fantastic. Managed to quote for work and come in under budget by around 35%.

There is a certain sense of occasion about trips to the OPC (sad boy that I am).

OPC warranty is also really good value.

Now all I have to do is make sure I don't crash the car into the wall next to my tiny car space.

When we are talking about "OPC East London", are we talking about the one on the way to Stratford?

Gloat? Nope, just sharing the love!

OPC East London........yep, thats the one sandwiched between Bow and Stratford. I presume they will have to move for the Olympics?

Thanks ... dunnot about the moving thing. They have only just moved there haven't they? (Well, "Only Just" being 3 or 4 years ago.)

Last time i was there, and making conversation with Nigel (the service bloke) he told me they dont have to move. There is a canal behind their car park, so they are cut off from the Olympic site in Waterden Rd.

I also have found them pretty good, though i did get suckered into the new wiper trick (best part of £100 fitted).

Hmmm, I know a chap who took his car to A N Other dealership to PX it and was shown that the car needed new discs and had a leaking Main oil seal. He was a little bemused as 3 months and 1000 miles earlier he had paid East London £1600 to do the very same work....guess they must have forgotten???

Oh, well thats good to know as I'm in a situation where I'm just penning a mail to the dealer principle.

Unfortunately I've had more problems with the car and it has to go in again but I'm being told they can't do it for 2 weeks... but the car is only 3 weeks old.

Pikey - sorry to hear that you're having problems. Nothing major I trust.

You can mail me if you need anything.

Pikey, sorry to hear you are having problems with your Cayman. Are they issues you can share? If you prefer PM me in case I need to keep an eye/ear/nose out for anything with my one. Am happy to compare notes on anything you have experienced to date that I may have overlooked so far.

Regards

I agree, East London are great, have been using them since 1999 for new cars and servicing.

They recently serviced my RS and did a great job.

Well, how they've dealt with the situation is... impressive!

They came back immediately on email and later by telephone. They have explained the situation and basically it seems I have fallen through the cracks and they're going to resolve immediately.

I'm currently left with the impression that I am a valued customer.

Won't go through the details here, but they certainly have a big thumbs up from me!

Good stuff, this Porsche ownership!

Major Thread Resurrection......

Down to OPC Stratford today with an dodgy idle issue. Checked, problem sourced and solved (I think), discs checked and air gunned as I had a stone caught on the way to the OPC, underside and exhaust checked for rattles, test drive, 1 hour drooling over cars......£70 all in.........and peace of mind now on the idle front.

Can't fault those guys.
