10 week old Porsche water leak shocker!!!
I can almost see the headline in Auto Car.
But seriously, anyone else have leaking windows when you wash the car (with a hose with rose on the end, not jetwasher), or coolant leaking from one of the front rads. Or is my middle name lucky?

I once washed my CSL with the windows down.

Thankfully, most of the water went straight through !

Good luck with the waranty claim ....

When you say 'good luck with the claim', would i need luck? Have i been using the wrong sort of water to wash the car in? I have a 38 yr old Morris Minor i can wash by hand, and get this, the inside dont get wet when you rinse it! As for the coolant leak, is there a way the dealer could hold his hand out for the repairs?

Probably just need some adjustments to the glass - no dealer would refuse unless you imported the car yourself. As for the rad leak - one of 2 things. You were ragging it and have holed a rad with a stone, or more likely, loose connection/clip. Again dealer will oblige unless he can see it's accident damage.

BOTH of my 997's leaked water through the side windows - the new one (C4S) is worse than my previous C2S. The C2S only had leaking FRONT windows - the C4S leaks from the back windows as well - BUT I do use my JETWASH to clean the car off before I handwash.

why would they have an issue even if you had imported it, provided it is covered by the std 2 year European warranty?

I have always found Porsche to be good with my cars even when imports (3), though they have all been from with the EU (so they should be treated the same as UK C16 cars).

But even so, even down to the extended warranty, I have never had so much as a gripe.

So maybe I should have said "I hope you don't need good luck to get this sorted".

And no, none of my Porsches have leaked --- not even the Boxster S'

Yea. Water cooling is just wrong.

But was this due to a nice stone leaving a hole in the front rad.

Was the cause of mine on the 996. Actually was a blessing in disguise as the other rad was in bad shape, so both replaced (but hit my wallet). Was surprised how much cooler the engine ran afterwards

The car was new from a S East OPC, so import issues are non applicable.
The leaking window is the small fixed rear O/S window, and water trickles in about half way along the top, and as for the rad, i have had a good look at it and it is perfect (as you would expect for a car with 2k on the clock), and the fluid seems to leak from the under tray in,front of the wheel.
And just another thing, the dealer who i spoke to on Saturday with 'theyve all gone home, i ring you Monday morning to see if the car needs recovering' as usual, never rung! Another day, another dealer disapointment.

Hose washing your car in the South East? Isn't there a hosepipe ban?

Perhaps you've been hit by the water board sabateur squad ...
