Cheap Cerb in Chard

Spotted a red facelift Cerb for sale in a small garage on the edge of Chard priced at what I think was 12k.
Anyone know it?

To be honest, I'm not thinking of purchasing a Cerbie yet (certainly not now I'm managed to hydralock my V8S!) - I just spotted it at what seemed a ridiculous price and thought others might be interested.

Why are you always trying to pull down the prices of Cerberas? Its very annoying!
I think he is looking at the cheap end of the market ie early 4.2s, less than perfect examples etc.....
I would expect my 99 4.5 to go for £18K min as it has nitrons, great paint, spiders, aircon, good colours, good miles, good history, reliable etc..... I guess some people would say it is worth less - but plenty of good 4.5s go for around this and a lot more.

Were I to put my 96 4.2 up for sale, I'd hope that it would go for around £15k?
47,000 miles but full engine rebuild 500 miles ago.
New gearbox.
New clutch.
Nitrons.
Only bad thing about the car is that it is Rosso Pearl (which I really like!) so will be a difficult match come respray time

I'd wager if you took an early cerb into a non-tvr dealer for p/ex they'd either say they didn't want it or offer you about 8k. A TVR dealer might ofer you more, but would just sell it on for minimal profit through an auction or to another indie trader maybe. They're just too much of a risk for anybody to retail these days.

I was tempted to ask that question of some other regulars on here when they were looking for a cerb in the not too distant past. They are much slower to jump in saying it's not worth anything now that they have one. I'm just so glad I got out before the prices go below 10k.
There's nothing wrong with a good early 4.2, the problem is the people who come on saying 'ooohhh aahhhh, it's a '96 best not buy it because the engine is about to blow up or if you do buy it it's only worth 3 peanuts and a twix!!!!'.
That dealer must be having trouble shifting it cause the screen price is 14k and even the chimaera has a sticker price about 2k above the web price. Probably just didn't realise how tight the tvr market is when he took them on. People want to buy from specialists or enthusiast.
NICK as i said i'm looking to buy i can't see why some newer cars a so much cheaper than some older cars there is no continuity with the prices
i'm like everybody else i want the most for the least the market is falling its not going up i've looked at a few higher priced cars aswell that are classed as minters and they are not i've seen 8 chims/cerbs and griffs some very cheap some high i'm just looking for that right car as i've said before if i was selling i'd want loads for my car aswell

I see your point, I didnt understand that you were looking at the lower end of the market, no history and a Cerb that will need some work.
For the money you are looking at you should find one.

Exactly right - I would agree with all of that. That is why a private deal for a slightly later car with great provenance seems the best bet. Saves you money in the longer term.
