I'm looking for some really slick Gauges and Dials for use in my killer Java App...

Ideally, something looking on a par with PropellarHeads Reason, so you'll know I don't mind paying a few bucks for the good stuff....

Anyone come across anything a bit sexier than

www.kineticart.co.uk/KineticaRTControls.asp
www.maani.us/gauge/index.php?menu=Gallery

They need to be pure java....
many thanks
Ex

jfreechart has some dials I think - as well as a ridiculous number of graphs. It might not be pretty enough for you though. Also, the documentation is only available if you pay for it. Disassembling the class files is possible though...

Before you get too caried away, you must first consider whether or not a dial is the best way of displaying the data. I put it to you that it isn't and you should consider a more, graphic equalizer with peak type display.

I don't do java but, from what I know, from what I do do, I'd say that given the ammount of data and the variation of formats of data you'll probably want to chuck at the display, you should build something yourself from the ground up. This way, not only will you know exactly what you can chuck at it and how, if the whole thing does go killer, you can be sure it's all yours.
