I've got a Chim 450 which has suffered from the hot start problem but now has new starter motor from Fernhurst and the solenoid wiring mod kit. BUT when warmish (not when cold, not when piping hot) there is no power to the solenoid. Fuel pump primes, all the right dashboard lights on, but nothing to the starter solenoid. Leave it three or fours hours and it's fine. Which means it can't be used to go from A to B. Only A to A (leave home, drive for an hour or so, come back home!!!).

Where can I check whether the immobilise/alarm is putting out a voltage to the solenoid (i.e. where is the immobiliser and how can I "hack" into the wiring to check whether it's kicking out a signal or not)??

Its possible that the starter motor cut within the immobiliser unit is at fault. This was a common problem with the CAT 1 cobra alarm systems several years ago...The fuel pump would sometimes stop running causing the car to stall which was the same problem just a different circuit.... Simply trace the starter wire from your ignition switch and it will be spliced at some stage. Re join and test it....

I had a similar problem on my griff 500 and it was the immobiliser cutting the starter circuit when hot. Dop me a PM and i'll tell you how to check and bypass, best not to say on a public forum!.
