And no it's not due to the cold weather. It hasn't been working for a couple of weeks, I thought it only needed a fill up. So I had a proper look at it this weekend after a good run (so I couldn't put it down to the cold). Fill the tank up to the top with wind screen wash etc, etc. But the jets just don't work, they're making all the right noises, but I only get a dribble coming out of them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Matt.

A dribble is all you usually get anyway, I think someone somewhere does a mod to replace the pipes with holes in with Peugeot units with are a bit better, could be wrong though.
And one of my pipes is disconnected at the mesh panel joint, anyone know where the water is spraying when I use the one good one?

Inside the car bulkhead all over the windscreen wiper mechanism.
Swine to get at as the dash has to come out and an access panel cut. Descrption in the Bible 2.

Can you say "Bible 2"? Shouldn't it be the King James version or something?

How about "The Book of Revelations?"

That should get me excommunicated!

it's probably going to either be the holes in the wiper pipes becoming blocked, or more likely if both wipers are affected equally it'll be the one-way valve near the motor being full of gunk (techie term) - need to reach through the front grille area to get it out and clean it.

Cheers Joospeed,

That kind of makes sense, they worked fine up until 2 weeks ago, and then have just stopped working, I'll give it a go.

Matt.

Joolz.....
Would I be right in saying you service any TVR not just those new fangled AJP/S6 type beasts?
C1RVY keeps singing your praises and you're closer than my usual grease monkey
The service/MOT is still a few months away but these things are good to know anyway

Manek, sorry if I'm blind, but *which* Leven Tech kit did you get? I can't find it on their website....

Hmmm, I've looked on Leven's site too and can't find it. Either the memory is going (quite possible!) or it was from a TVR dealer. It's not from the TVR Car Club (I looked there too).

Sorry about that -- I was convinced it was Leven.

Manek, now you mention it there was an advert somewhere (Sprint perhaps?) a few years ago for a replacement spray-bar or something. Seem to remember it replaced the bit of bent black plastic tube that TVR fit.

That said I’ve never had a problem with mine and in fact I quite like the way it simply drizzles the water directly onto the screen as opposed to spraying it into the air like some Icelandic geyser (a la most BMW 3 Series) because it means they are useable when the roof is down. Rich...

Manek & Richard, you are both right and not dreaming. We did supply a washer system that replaced the long loop pipe with a 3 jet adjustable head version. We had to withdraw it due to supply problems but the good news is that it will be back soon. Also we may have a source for an even better version. Watch the web site for details. I the mean time Rain-X helps a lot especially in snow!
