Lamborghini prices Gallardo Spyder
Take a wad of fivers and buy one now
Lamborghini has confirmed the price of the Gallardo Spyder: £131,000 including VAT, plus delivery, will get you into the driving seat of one of these beauties.
Changes to the Coupé's engine and transmission system include a 10 per cent power boost from the 4.9-litre V10, which now develops 520bhp at 8,000rpm. It goes through a six-speed gearbox with new lower ratios: first gear is 27 per cent lower, second gear 13 per cent. Third, fourth and fifth gears are all six per cent lower, while sixth gear is 3.5 per cent lower. It'll reach a top speed of 196mph with the roof up and 192mph with it down, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in a spleen-wrenching 4.3 seconds.
Lamborghini said the steering is more direct and precise, and the suspension has been recalibrated. The Spyder is built using aluminium bodywork and features permanent four-wheel drive, like other Lambos. Chassis reinforcements include added material in the sill area, strengthened A pillars plus an automatic pop-up roll-over protection -- the company didn't say how much weight they add.
The Spyder was launched at Frankfurt Motor Show last autumn. Deliveries of the convertible model start this month from UK dealerships in London and Manchester.
Yum!

I like it 'over the Murci' but I just can't say it . . .
Edit to add very nice review. Look at those pics.

I'm very pleased for you. Ever since I saw a Countach LP400 at the Earls Court Motor Show in the early 70s I've always wanted one. But this Gallardo spyder is almost enough to make me change my mind and want one of these instead. The coupe is good enough, but the spyder just looks so right. Forget these huge Murcielagos and Diablos that won't fit down a country lane -- this is the real UK-friendly deal.

Get it upto a decent spec and you'll be talking 150k
e-gear 6,250
callisto rims 2.017
3 layer paint 2,100
Brakes 667
electric seats 1,595
carbon 5,950
computer 325
navi + mp3 1,615
You mean brakes are extra?
I am not sure that "carbon" (whatever that means), electric seats and navi/MP3 are vital extras. Which saves over £9K for a start.

I've ben lusting after one of these babies for ages now! IMHO it is the best looking supercar currently available. OK, it's not quite as polished as the 430, but as an all rounder it don't half take some beating. Must be bought in black though, that baby blue is disgraceful!
Mine is Black !!!!

Nope don't agree. After a few weeks the Murcie can be thrown all over the place. Just takes a bit of getting used to. Its heavy on a the track and the Gallardo runs rings round it around corners. But get it on a straight and its goodbye.
The update from 360 to 430 has lost it for me, Loved the 360 and it flowed.
The 430 is a sharp angular update on an overall curvy smooth shape, it just jars to my eyes.
The Gallardo spyder on the other hand looks much more cohesive...
