jpg's not opening.
Discussion
Tried to open a pic of a saggy (car not boob) in outlook express... nothing.
Tried to open jpg's saved in folders, nothing
Whether its related to this virus or not I dont know.
I can manually change the default program which opens pics (and it works ok in other apps, so its not the end of the world) but windows picture and fax viewer (nice fast loading little ap) no longer works, even if I change file associations. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Could be that they're saved in CMYK format (used for commercial printing) and not as RGB? I know for a fact that some (maybe all) of the MS Office suite wont work with CMYK JPGs.
Any half decent photo-editing package should allow to to check and alter the colour split settings.

If you're using XP you may be able to reset it by going into My Documents and then select a folder that you keep photos in. Right click on any of the files you know to be a photo and select 'Open With...' and choose the program that you want to view them with. This happened to my wife's computer and doing this seemed to work.

I need thumbnails to work in windows explorer (I can see them, but the jpeg preview doesnt appear) as 90% of the work i do is managing clients web site files, which consist of photos and source files, web files, program files etc. It would be a hinderence to use another better image viewer, as the windows pic/fax viewer is so fast loading and (I think) is the program which also generates thumbnail images when viewing folders in thumbnail mode.
Ive not been able to get it to work yet, if anyone has any suggestions...
