Fully synthetic or Magnatec?

Whenever i have used magnatec on any of my cars it has made the engine rattle like a bag of spanners and if there is a slight hit of an oil drip the magnatec will find it.
It is recomended that you use 5-50 in TVR's. Preferably Mobil 1 but they have stopped making it. I use Valvoline in mine as it was the only 5-50 that i could find in my area.
