Heater Motor Fan

I have just taken my Chim out for first time this year, it was a pretty wet day by the time I got back home. When I put the fan on the first speed nothing happened, then the second speed, still nothing happened, was getting worried as my window was getting misted up.Thankfully the third speed worked and windscreen was cleared.
Anyone with any ideas as to what can be the problem. Had a look at the blower unit which seems tucked away in pax footwell, but could not see any elecritical connections.

Could be your heater control module is on the way out,
It's situated under the dash panel, which is a pig to get off.
Its a common fault, mine has packed up and I havn't got round to replacing it yet.
I have recently seen one for sale, can't remember if it was on here or ebay, but even second hand they are not cheap,

Any idea where behind the dash the module lives, I have had the dash off a few times, so I know how.

On my car it is in the middle towards the back, fixed down with velcro.
If you follow the wires from the control switch they go to it,
it is a black box 4" X 3" in size.
