My new TVR Cerbera 4.5l V8 1998

Finally got my car after a long search and many tests. On the first day the headlights would not work, but are ok now. However, the brake lights are now on all the time. Secondly, the drivers side window does not go down when opening the car. Thirdly, the car really smells of oil and fumes when driving. Finally, the spiggot on the air box is damaged/cracked as somebody has overtightened the pipe connection!
Any advice please? I am a complete novice when it comes to cars and have little knowledge. I prefer to drive cars as opposed to work on them!

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the control boxes on top of the fuel tank?

This may sort out the window issue.

Brake lights on all the time sounds like the switch is sticking. Not sure what its like on a cerbera but have a look in the footwell. You might see a nipple like switch that the brake pedal arm pushes against when depressed. This could be stuck in and need a bit of wd40 etc to free up.

Where would we be without niggles to sort out?!

take it back to the dealer or speak to whoever inspected the car. Smell of oil and fumes is a big no no. You want to get an expert to sort that asap.

All worked when I bought it, but did not really notice the fumes I must admit! Not that daft!
