Help please... I'm trying to get a replacement part, I believe it's a Ford part but need to know the exact part number as having visited my local Ford dealer they haven't got anything that looks vaguely like the part.

My car is an R reg '97 Chimaera 400. The washer bottle cap was a milky white plastic job that pressed on and popped off about 1.25 inches in diameter.

I've tried TVR Parts and the dealerships and although they give me the TVR part number, nobody has one, knows when they can get one or give me the Ford part number.

IIRC a Tescos milk bottle top should fit!

I tried that - doesn't fit mine very well, however it appears that Peninsula have cornered the market in washer bottle lids (they have 9 in stock believe it or not) so I am soon to be the proud owner of a replacement part. So far as I can tell they have the entire UK stock ;-)

Tescos milk bottle lids DO fit, nice snug snap fit. Available in blue, green or red!

If you are tring to screw it one you won't get very far admittedly, which I think is what those who say they don't fit must be doing. It ain't a milk bottle! The original was snap fit, the milk bottle lid will snap fit as well. Honest.

OK - should have pressed harder maybe....

Anyhow I'm now sorted thanks to Peninsula.

If your ever stuck a piece of cling film and an elastic band works as well.

Got a nice white one from tescos and used a scalpel to cut away the thread inside so that it snaps on and off easily now.
