Occasional engine "clonk"

This morning when the engine was cold, I was getting A clonk from the engine, about every twenty seconds.

It seamed to disappear after about five minutes of driving.

I've had the timing chain replaced recently, and my cold idle speed seems to be gradually increasing. It's idling at 1600 rpm at the moment.

Is there any chance the timing is out, due to movement on the new chain ?

I dont know what it is but that is not right.

If I were you I would get it back to the people who did the chain.

My timing was out on mine, and the ECU will 'learn' obviously yours has leaned too much so to speak, and compensating for something very wrong, don't drive get it low loaded to wherever the chain was changed.

I agree. Something really wrong here. Get it towed to where they did the chain.

That's a very metallic light tap, not a clonk, in my experience.
