Successful Traffic Pro Installation on 996
Discussion
As promised.... I managed to get my traffic pro up and running in my '99 996 without too much hassle and without damaging anything on the car but did come across a couple of 'gotchas' on the way (like why there was no sound from the speakers and how to get a reverse signal).
If anyone wants more info drop me a line. It does involve a bit of poking around behind the centre of the dash but whilst there I took the opportunity to hard wire my road angel.
The unit is a High Speed 7824 Limited Edition and works really well and looks suitably OEM. I think it is Limited Edition because it has an amber illumination option that is the same colour as the interior dash lighting which helps it fit in. Cost me £190 on ebay so I reckon that is about as cheap an OEM-look satnav install as you'll get.
