Wonder if anyone is using Solidworks on this laptop?
The spec suggests it should run no problem but it doesn't say it's supported on SW's website.

Any suggestions of equivalent laptops that do run it would be appreciated as well.

Cheers.

When I was looking for a laptop that could run SW 2004, I was advised against an ATI Radeon card. I eventually got one with an nVidia GeForce and it's always run fine.

Apparently these aren't recommended either though

This link should give a round up of current hardware.

http://solidworks.com/pages/services/ lists all certified graphics cards (which are the most relevant bit on a computer for mCAD applications).
I can't find Nvidia Geforce cards though, only Quadro chipsets.

>> Edited to add:
When you choose to use a Geforce chipset, it doesn't matter if it's on a noname, Dell, Thinkpad or Asus laptop.

Thanks for the replies.

I shall see whether I can spec a card I want at build.

Thanks again.

Edit, have just found this one which has the Nvidia GeForce card and is cheaper too!
