60th birthday celebration ideas please

Both my parents a celebrating their sixtieth birthdays this year (in Feb and March), an occasion that is worthy of marking with something pleasantly memorable.
I'm stuck as to what I can do for them/give them so I'm turn to the combined wisdom of PistonHeaders for suggestions please.
Some background info:
My sister lives in Holland and is skint so can't afford to put a lot of money in, so budget isn't huge. I thought about sending them on some kind of memorable activity i.e. mum's always wanted to go gliding so that would be ideal, but I can't think of anything for dad. Maybe a skidpan session at Castle Combe which is just up the road from them but he's more into classic cars and steam engines and would be too worried about damaging the tyres to enjoy himself
So what did you do for your parents sixtieth birthdays?

whens my wedding anniversary Mine had their 40th wedding anniversary on the same day as one of their 60th birthdays. So we booked them into the same hotel they had for their honeymoon.
It combined a bit of romance and nostalgia for the old dears.
I guess this option cold be a problem if you parents married in Kashmir while on a lentil-eating holiday with fellow tree huggers in the 60s

Right, regards your Dad that’s easy, either a trip with your Mum on the British Orient Express - make sure it is a Steam hauled (usually Flying Scotsman) or a day/weekend classic car hire with an overnight at a country hotel (advert in the back of most car mags). For your Mum gliding would be fun but I’m bound to say that! e-mail me off line if you want for some advice - I am a glider pilot and have given many of these “trial lessons" as they are called, value for money depends a lot on the weather and whether you go for a winch launch (thrilling but a shorter flight) or aero-tow (less of a thrill but a longer flight) Rich…

Perhaps a trip on the Orient Express would be nice. We sent my Dad up in a hot air balloon for his 70th birthday - problem was he got the taste for high flying and did a tandam sky dive on his 75th.

I love the Flying Scotsman/Orient Express ideas (except they all seem to go to Bath, where they live!) so I'm going to price up a combination of your ideas to form the perfect weekend:
1. Flying Scotsman from London to Oxford
2. Transport of some sort (ideally classic car) from Oxford to Morton-in-Marsh
3. A night in the same hotel they spent their honeymoon in.
4. Copies of the Times from their actual birth days with breakfast.
It may be quite a lot over my budget though so we'll have to see. Perhaps I could get support from other relatives.
