My new dream car!!

Just got the car back from its 12k service and a few bits and niggles that needed sorting.

WOW!! Its like driving a rolls royce!!

They have totally tightened everything up, fixed 2 or 3 bad knocks and rattles and re-fitted my leaky rear lights foc!

Had the throttle cable re-routed up the sill and that has made a big difference to the throttle response.

Driving through the bumpy Cambridge roads tonight, it felt tighter than my work car!!

OK you're happy but this is stretching it a bit isn't it? Unless it was tied in knots I really can't think that routing it through the sill rather than the tunnel would change throttle response?

Had to go to the factory (sorry Kerridges) as there were a few bits that needed fixing after the last sterling job the factory guys did after it was towed there after it got driven into!

Paul, not too sure really. Its not amazing but its definatly smoother and the whould car feels much tighter and faster under the right foot.

I think maybe the cable had lots of bends in it before, or maybe there was a strand loose inside that caused friction inside it. I used to struggle to hold constant revs before but now its much easier.

Just testing - to be added to the list of excuses - remember the thread - "why I was slow on the track" - we can now add; throttle cable partialy melted (eventually they do completely melt but presumably there must be a partial melt situation beforehand that might seem like a sticky frayed cable) and snagging.

Greg- what was the cause of your brake-pedal disappearing to the floor at Bedford? Did they sort this? Or is this another one to add to the list of 'why I was slow on track' - no confidence in brakes therefore had to go round v slowly indeed.

No, I guess it must have been that I bumped a curb and opened up the calipers, did not know you could do this and thus got the shock of my life when the pedal hit the floor at 120 mph It seemed fine for the rest of the day.

All sorted now, new fluid and DS2500 pads.

I've got Snet on 24th, Bedford 29th and Brands full GP on May 10th, so will probably miss out on Silverstone. Good to see you're at Bedford, Richard -lets hope for a dry day! Hope to see you there as well Washy - bring yer lid as I'm sure you'll be able to blag a ride (no cost for passengers with BaT)
