Servicing!

Guys, need to get the wedge serviced but don't have the room to do it.

One option is to book it into the TVR centre in Arkley but reckon they will charge me a fortune!

Does anyone know any other (reasonably priced) garages in Herts/North London?

Alternatively I'd be willing to pay someone to do it (and give them a hand as well).....

Been quoted £470 for a 12,000 mile service by these guys. Does that sound reasonable?

TVR Centre want £540 for a 12,000 mile service and £380 for 6000 mile.

Numbnuts has a garage in Bristol - Silverbackmike uses him and has told me he does quite a few Tivs' Checkout his prices online..........www.dcautocare.co.uk/repair.html

I will be using their services soon.

Depends what it includes: change brake fluid? change coolant? change fuel filter? etc.etc. Did they give you a list?

I think the best way to comapre prices is to give the indie garage a copy of the TVR service work sheet and compare like for like.

Ive not had my 400 Serviced for a while, the last serviced Wedge I heard about was done in Fernherst.

Can't vouch for Dave enough, known him for years, did his first ferrari cambelt at 17 If it's a nuts and bolts bloke that knows his oily bits inside out, he's your man.

Besides, I'll probably be up there twiddling with the wedge as well, I seem to spend most of my rest days at his garage....He does MOT's as well....Just a thought for us wedgers.



Trouble is, he's a lotus man but I'm trying to convert him from those weedy engined girly chariots.

Right, I've booked into Tower View at the end of the month. Just having oil and filter change and plugs for £150 including parts and labour. Much more reasonable than spending £500!!

i would recomend that you get gearbox and final drive levels checked . also get the prop shaft and drive shafts greased , these are fitted with grease nipples and regular greasing WILL save you a lot of money - just greased mine this weakend but its a pain in the a**e crawling underneath.

Will do, do you reckon that they'd charge a lot more for this? Cashflow a bit tight this month as having to have an immobiliser fitted for the insurance too!

Very sensible, although I'd say if you can stretch to it, get the fluids changed completely. That way you know whats in there.
