hi all,
got some problems. I must hae caught a speed bump as the exhaust was bent a little out of chape on the L bend after my de-cats going to the main exhaust. This caused my regular mechanic to drive my S3 straight into the ramp crushing one of the L bends almost completely and damaging the drivers side one too.
Question is where can I get these L bends. Are these standard or have I got a non-standard exhaust. I could get some fabricated out of stainless at a powerflow centre but any ideas how much I should reasonably spend? My closest powerflow place is run by a bit of a w****r who likes to take advantage by throwing vast amounts of money into the bill. Id like to be prepared to tell him where to shove it if he tries it with me.

could try your local scrappy. found two almost brand new bent pieces of exhaust of the same daimeter and just chopped them to size. they are held on with clamps and sealant. also borrowed a fluting(sp?)tool from my local garage for a small deposit. it flares the ends of the pipes and makes assembly a lot simpler(cone shaped die that you bang into he pipe) maybe the off the shelf pipes have this anyway.
cheers

Just another question regarding my exhaust damage. Ive had a better look and its not just the bends damaged. The centre box section is really knackered too. Question is...Do we need the centre box section (for legal reasons or any other) or can this section be cut out and replaced with simple welded/clamped on stainless pipes. I expect it may be a little noisier?
