Im not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, but this looks good. www.netkar-pro.com/

Its a hard core racing simulation by an indie developer, and it appears to be a labour of love for these guys.

Any of you who wander over to RSC every now and again may be interested to know that the lead developer spends quite a bit of time in the Netkar-Pro forum.

Demo is available on monday for download.

release is announced as around midnight CET, should be good.

Its the first sim that wont let you change gears if you havent removed torque from the gearbox, which is a nice touch.

Sounds interesting, but actually Grand Prix Legends did this way back when.

You 'could' change gears without lifting the throttle and losing torque, but your engine or gearbox would be toast within a few laps.

ive still got GPL on here too, i consider GPL to be the most groundbreaking piece of gaming software ever created (what else from 1998 is still on anyones computers and still being played?).

This wont change gear unless youve unloaded the dogs, which is the next logical step up the realism ladder.

Just to bump this game up

A new patch is out for the V1 release to 1.01.

Is no-one else playing this?
The cost for 4 cars and four tracks is around the £22 mark.
It seems a little pricey until you have a drive, the game will also be well supported by the modding scene.

The graphics are good and the physics feel really good

Still...22 quid?
I'll have to give it some thought in that case.
