MOT Passed and Toyos

Just gotten the car back from Austec, passed the MOT with no problems. Car was said to be in very, very good mechanical condition. Also had 2 front Toyo Proxes TR fitted to the front. They are excellent and I expect them to get better once they are bedded in. All I need is some money to get the rears changed now!

To summarise, there are two issues IMHO:
1 for use on the road your car must be insured (ignoring the deposit at the DTp route) and for it to be insured you must be in agreement with your insurance co. who have to be happy with the tyres.
2 The tyres must be appropriate for the car and the use to which it is being put.
Unless you have the schedule of shpub 2 is not likely to be a problem but people have posted on here that they have had problems with 1 which indirectly is a legal requirement.

As far as I know, legally speaking, you should have tyres that equal or exceed the maximum speed of the vehicle or your insurance is void unless you get written confirmation stating that the insurance company is happy with the lesser speed rating.
I could be wrong but thats what I believe.
I do apologise It would turn out that I am speaking utter nonesense after a few beers in the early hours of the morning! What JR said is correct, IMHO I would not put anything other than a Z rated tyre on my car.
