Anyone know what they are for?

Would it, for instance, be possible to connect a 250GB External Hard Disk to each of these ports and increase the record capacity to an unimaginable level?

I ask because I have just found out the Motors TV are showing 56 hours of Le Mans coverage this year, and 40 Hours record capacity just isnt enough!

I don't know what they are for, however, I do know that it is very easy to change the internal HDD for a larger capacity one, almost exactly like doing it in a PC.

I have a DVD recorder with 160GB hard drive ready for such occasions
If my Sky plus is getting a little full i backup anything i want to keep to DVD, or i can record direct to the recorders hard drive instead of the Sky box's internal disk.
