Audi awaits reactions from Detroit Auto Show, to decide if the build it or not.
It's called "Pikes Peak quattro" and has a 500PS V8-biturbo engine from the RS6.

What's next?
Seat Pyrenee Freedom?
Škoda Bohemia Funster?
Ferrari Dolomiti Speziale?

No thanks.

However they should immediately uprate the RS6 engine to the 500PS spec.

DAZ

PS - All the mag reports on the RS6 show a tiptronic type gearbox. Out of curiosity does anyone know if Audi offer a manual gearbox instead? TIA

Oh please don't tell me Audi is not being classed like BMW....I am looking at swapping the Suzuki for an S3.

Claire

PS. Suzuki do the best Pikes Peak car and its a GV2000 like mine...now if only my jeep was as quick I wouldn't need an S3

Seems to be what the American market demands unfortunately. Audi (and all other carmakers bar the low-volume specialist guys) are not in the business of making cars; they are in the business of making money. And I suppose they figure this will do it for them.

My main objection to this thing is the name. "Pikes Peak"? Give me a break. It's just not right to give that name to anything other than a spiritual successor to the Sport Quattro (which is something they really ought to build, but probably won't, again because of profits or in this case lack thereof).

Claire, I heard somewhere that there is a company in scotland who will make your car into the Escudo Pikes Peak Version, although I'd hate to think of the costs.
