DVD to Mpeg

Im trying to back up some homemovies to my pc so i can edit them, im cofused as to what kind of program im gonna need

I had loads of trouble finding something that would reliably rip DVDs to MP4 format for my PSP - tried a combo of DVD Decrypter and PSP Video 9 but there's about a billion settings to figure out. I ended up paying about £10 for a tool from ImToo - www.imtoo.com/ - which is really simple and works every time.

Plenty of free stuff out there, but might be worth a few quid to save hours of messing about with settings
