... my phone. Its a company mobile, but I've got my sim card in it (too many txt for them to pay for )

So where can I get a really cheap handset from - the shops I've seen all want to flog me a new contract, but I like the sim contract I've got. Any ideas?

It seems these days you're entitled just to take a mobile off anyone who happens to be passing on the street.... so long as you don't break the speed limit whilst making your escape..

Buy a pay as you go phone and throw away the sim that comes with them. Thats what I have done when dropping the phone down the toilet etc

I've got an old nokia that would do for that.... Hadn't htought about the PAYG and chuck the sim - good idea!

Is the sim on a monthly contract? Who is it with? If its one of the big companies contact them and say you need a new phone, haggle on the price and tell them you’ll go elsewhere if you don’t get a good deal. The other alternative is to get a prepaid One.tel (available from the link) contact phone, they are unlocked phones and work with any sim, after the year is up cancel the One.tel contract leaving nothing to pay and is cheaper than buying a PAYG or sim free!

If its a contract sim card, they often offer you an upgrade every 12months. There is often a free phone (3310 or similar) or for a few notes more you can get better models. I have a T65 that I might be selling if my mum doesnt want it, but the reason im selling is because its a pain to type text messages, good condition though. If you are interested, drop me an email and ill ask my mum.
