Morning all,

Whenever I seem to see a 911 (of various models) being test driven on the tely, why do they always have HUL on the number plate??

Was just wondering!

Cheers.

Because the plate is owned by Porsche GB and is normally put on turbos. They also own "911 GB" which has appeared on a number of GT3/2 used as a presscar or demonstrator.

911 HUL has also been seen on the odd non turbo such 3.2 club sport.

Seems to move around quite a lot, two consecutive issues of 911 & PW featured completely different turbos, both had the same number plate.

Does HUL stand for or mean anything ...or was it the first plate with 911 that Porsche managed to get their hands on?

Don't think it stands for anything. Just a 911 plate they've owned for a long time.

Porsche used to own OPR 911 - again, I remember it on a really nice 911 Club Sport.

Never quite understood the relevance, but may be the person who bought it was dyslexic
