I use Outlook for e-mails. If I send an attachement to somebody that is using Outlook, they receive the attachement. If they are using Outlook Express, they do not. I have checked all of the security settings, but I cannot see what the problem is!

Please help!

Hmm...

By they, I assume you mean the same user, are they both going to the same account? It's not soemthing really stupid like outlook picking up the mail before OE gets to it.

Are they getting the message, but with the attachment stripped out, of just nothing?

Are you getting any bounce type messages?

The "problem" is at their end, not yours. Just point them to this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/32957 it's working as it's designed to.

Thanks, BlairOut.

The users at the other end have disabled the "Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus Protection, and then click OK" bit, but they still do not get the attachements! They receive attachments from other people, presumably using Outlook Express to send, but not from me, using Outlook!

Agreed that it's their end, but even with that enabled, you can still see the attachment, It's just that all the options to handle it are greyed out.

If you select the message and do File => properties => details=> message source, is the attachment there? The source should look something like .....

If that's there, then I'd say either OE is borked or there's some third party software involved. If that's not there then the attachments been stripped either by their mail server (unlikely if it's the same server that Outlook connects to), or again, something third party. Over aggressive AV or spam filtering.
