For those of you who have one of these wonderful little devices, how have you fastened it in your Cerb?
I doubt any are using the suction cup, as this would eliminate most of the viewable windscreen! But I also find that leaving it unattached in the cubby hole, ensures that it regularly wanders around while cornering.
I did think of using velcro, but I actually use the mount in my other car, and so I can't stick anything on the bottom of the unit.
So, any successful ideas?

Interesting, but it all looks rather industrial! Kind of out of alignment with the Cerb interior...(am I being too fussy!)
I'd say some kind of clamp to the area underneath the head unit would be sufficiently out of sight that you'd not have to eyeball loads of black plastic. What did you want in terms of looks to match the Cerbie interior though?
I managed to mount mine on some Velcro, as I also swapped it between cars. You'll still be able to use the proper suction mount in the other vehicle if you shape the Velcro around the mounting spigot type thing. Had mine on the 'ledge' above the radio, but below the dash top, so it didn't encroach on the screen.

Sorry, Steve, I wasn't meaning that it had to be all swoopy'n'stuff, just that the RAM stuff looked more at home in the engine bay!

)... ...ooh, and yes, the GPS does work in the cubby hole, although I am told if you have the special heated screen then you may have trouble.

Same here, but mine is Tom Tom in a pda - sits under the rear view mirror, so sits in the
already restricted line of site.
Never caused any issues - may have got me lost a few time, but that's another story!

You also need an extra GPS antenna (otherwise no signal without direct sight of sky) which you get for 10 quid @ maplins...

No its all neatly hidden behind the little extra plastic disc supplied with the i3- further bonus it is very clear visible even in bright sunlight (if there ever is any on this 
island)- the suction mount is the applied to this disc- lokks very nice- can post picture if u want (need to get a photo dump first...am a bit of an IT legasthenic-sorry - otherwise pictures of my nice Cerby would be here already...)

Problem was the curves of the cubby hole didn't allow a decent fixing point do I bought a proper tomtom mounting kit off ebay for about £20 I think and screwed it to the left hand edge of the cubby hole.
It works a treat and it's easily detachable for when I use it in my other car. The signal is fine and it's hard to see from the outside so thieves wouldn't see it easily.
Problem with velcro was it just came off when you went round a corner and then tomtom just rolled around inside the cubby hole. It's also convenient for the cig lighter to charge up the satnav.

Try using the suction cup in the centre of the windscreen but reverse the screen using the software controls so its 'upside down'. This means the actual TomTom unit can be mounted below the dash level, so only the suction cup is blocking you view. Works for me....
I didn't realise you could do that!
And now you have me thinking that if you can turn the display, would it be possible to screw a mount within the cubby but up on it's ceiling? That way you would never need to see it...
Are the any vitals in that part of the facia? I know the head unit is there, but you wouldn't need to be that brutal in fixing a mount.

i agree with bud, i just got used to it - i have seen though a smaller version of the suction bit. mine is over to the far left, and the screen turned towards me. The velcrow idea sounds good, but not sure it'll get great GPS reception under the stereo.

I mount my Snooper Indago just inside the cubby hole using the standard holder (with suction cup) onto a small square of glass (old picture frame glass) which I velcro'd to the underside of the radio. Works a treat and the mount can obviously be moved from car to car if required.
