window mechanism problem

I'm having a problem with the drivers window, it makes a clunking slipping sound when operated and now needs some manual intervention to get the window right the way up.

Any idea on what the problem is? Is it something I might be able to fix myself, is the door easy to take apart (and put back together).

One of the cables has snapped/come loose. Sort out in base of door.

Take the interior door trim off (ref to bible) and ave a look see, it may become clear when you can see inside, if in doubt take the passenger side off and ave a look in there. Sounds like something has come adrift, or is your motors getting tired.
