Strange looking lens

I was at the BTCC on Sunday at Brands Hatch, and saw this:



I guess it's for getting full 360 degree images, but intrigued to know what the results are like from one of these. He was standing on the entry to Druids.

I suspect a 360 degree view of Druids is quite something? Can't imagine what the view looks like through the view finder though

You've missed the fetching ponytail that's holding the hat in place.

Would love to see the result of that lens, I'd bet it looks great.
