took the 390 for mot today and it passed without needing any work ! and i drove it there in pi***ng rain and no leaks !!! things just dont get any better, however it has always had a bit of a flat spot from tickover which the mechanic has put down to the air flow meter , does this sound right and if so where to get one ? thanks in antisipation to all those out there helping us new to wedges/tvr.

who's the mechanic? he probably knows more than me, but could just be your throttle pot setting.

just a small garage north of manchester, not a tvr expert but exelent mechanic, honest and good prices ,doesnt fail mot's just to make more money off repairs. for anybody else in this area its Wavel Garage haslingden 01706 212264.

Chris, you could do much worse than popping down to Ian at TorqueRVT in Middlewich, he'll get it sorted!

BTW is that Graham's old car?

Last time I was out in that car (when Graham had it) I had the definite impression that it pulled like Gary Glitter at hometime. Don't recall any flat spots: it would take off quicker than my 390.

im probably being a bit picky as theres nothing realy wrong with the car apart from a few cosmetic items, it only a very small hesitation from idle speeds if you stick your foot down and could probably be any one of a number of things. ive been trying to go through the diagnostics on the tvr wedge pages (very usefull) and im sure ill track it down eventualy.

My 350i does that with the standard fuel pressure regulator as well. Other FPR fixed that. Also went for a rising rate one. Have the standard old one back in at the moment due to a search for a cause of only idling and nothing else. Have a replacement ecu now, and plan to put the rising rate FPR back in (liked the quick response and small extra go).
