Bridgestone SO2 & SO3

I currently have SO2 all round and need to replace the fronts but im being offered SO3 as twos are difficult to source, is there a problem in mixing twos with threes?

For example: SO3's on front and SO2's on rear shouldn't pose a problem. I wouldn't have an SO3 on front left and SO2 on front right or an SO3 on rear left and SO2 on rear right at the same time though.

I ran SO1's on front at the same time as SO2's on the back when I first got the car. That was quite a good combination.

BUT ! If I was you, I would'nt go from SO2 to SO3. SO3's are shite in comparison.

I need new tyres on the front for an MOT, but then the car will be up for sale, i was concerned about mixing makes front to back, is it normally considered a problem. If not what make would you suggest?

I honestly don't know. Having SO1 on front and SO2 on rear for me wasn't a problem but I'm not a tyre expert.

I'd hazard a guess that its OK to do this. ? ?

I wouldn't cross mix though.

If you still have S02s all round, you can't be driving it hard enough to tell the difference.! I've had 5 sets of rear tyres since S02s were discontinued!

Funny, I have S03s all round but the rears were marginal for the MoT. I tried to get S03s but was told they were discontinued. However a brand new pair of S02s has just been delivered to my door courtesy of MyTyres.com. They don't do the right size for the fronts though.

I ran my first griff on its original so1's,then added so3's on the rear and it was no problem.My chimaera had so3's all round and again i never had issues with them.Personally i dont understand what all the fuss is about with the so3's,for me they always seemed good.I currently still have the original so2's on my present griff,and would love to replace my fronts with so3's,but just where are you getting them from?I thought they had long gone and that you struggle to get any zr rated tyre in the 15" size?

Do they have "Pole Position" written on the side? If not then I believe they are the Porsche spec tyres with a different compound and wall structure. They still made them for Porsche after the decent S02PPs had been discontinued IIRC.
