crunshing third gear

Hi all!
it may be a silly question, but every nown again i go to put the beast in third and it crunshes!
Im guessing the gearbox is on its way out! I suppose im hopeing one of you will say something can be adjusted easily! But i very much doubt it, nothings easy on a bloody cerb

Think it's Crunches....

Sounds like the Synchromesh. Think they go on 3rd and 5th on these.

Gearbox off, new synchro's, back in.

Check the clutch is operating correctly first. Could be a weepy master or slave cylinder.

this happens on mine when the trotter is planted. I've just had my clutch go - fingers hopefully. so maybe this is a sign when the fingers are breaking off?

Hmm, i have the same moving into second...had the clutch bled but no joy....maybe i need to look again...

Had exactly the same before christmas - GET IT SORTED STRAIGHT AWAY!!! Next thing second and then third can seize and then you are a bit buggered, especially if driving around the M25, like I was! I had gearbox reconned and new clutch. Probably would have saved some dosh if I had got it reconned earlier.

A GRAND everything is a GRAND! I find myself driving the beast listening for noises, and anything out of the ordinary, suddenly i think "shit a grand" haha
