Cerbera turning circle?? (low speed)

Newbie here.

Looking at replacing my Jaguar XJR with a 4.5 Cerbera, but I'm worried that I may not be able to get it in and out of my car park - which is pretty tight.

The XJR just about fits and it has the turning circle of a bus, I was wondering if anyone could set my mind at rest about the Cerb......?

You are talking about a powerful rear wheel drive sports car here, surely you can make the turning circle as small as you like!

Hence the "low speed" in the title

You'd get about half-way through a flick-turn before hitting a house or another car!!

Might just have to move house........

But seriously, if you're buying from a dealer some of them will let you borrow the car for the weekend so you can find out about practical problems like this. Or just go along to a local meeting of the TVR Car Club and I'm sure you'll find a Cerbera owner happy to pop over and see if it fits.

The Cerb is my first serious sports car, but I do find that the QE2 probably turned tighter at slow speeds. That said, I would have thought that the XK would be at least as bad!

If you currently have the XJR (and not the XKR), then you will find the turning circle on the Cerb similar (it is pretty lousy), although with the lighter power steering it will feel as though you have slightly more movement 'lock to lock' on the Jag.

Will also depend on what wheels she's running on. Cars with 18" spiders have a wider turning circle than those with 16" or 17" wheels.

my garage is extremely tight...my patented technique is thus...

if you are turning right into your garage (reverse these instructions if you are making a left turn) - aim for the garage on the left of yours (or imagine a virtual garage next yours).

This way when u realise what a shocking turning circle you really do have your rear wheels are lined up - so all you have to do it put full left lock on and reverse and then you are nicely lined up for your own garage.
