Ford have announced that they are bringing back the Hertz racer rental
A special run of 500 performance-modified Ford Mustang GTs -- designated GT-H for "Hertz" -- will be produced by Shelby Automobiles and available at select Hertz locations to mark the 40th anniversary of the legendary program that offered car enthusiasts the unique opportunity to rent and drive a high-performance sports car.

Right whose booked a vacation in the States then?
I bet it's going to cost more than the original $17 a day plus 17cents for gas.
I wonder what the auction sticker will read when Hertz are done with them?

I've got one booked for a couple of weeks when I'm in San Francisco - anyone driven one of these yet?

Dil - too jammy and I think you need to take some in-car camera footage to make up for the fact that I gave you the heads-up but the cars were fully booked when I go to the US next month!!!!

Will do, although my post was a bit misleading - what I meant to say was I have one booked in a couple of weeks, just for the day though -planning to do a cruise down the coast. Wish I had it for the full two weeks! Although if I get too attached may have to extend the rental for just a bit...

Not quite in the same league, but we've done two touring holidays (Vegas-San Fran-LA and then LA-San Fran) in a previous generation v6 convertible. The Mustang, in this spec, makes a great cruiser....although it has one of the laziest gearboxes known to man. Kick-down? What's that?

Anyway, glad to see Hertz are back with these specials.
