Alternator supplier (if it's not the 100a fuse)

Hi.

Just spent 1hr stationary at the side of the road after losing all battery power, chief visible suspect being the alternator that isn't suppling anything (tested) now while I'm waiting for a friend to come over with a big jack and axle stands to check the 100a fuse as it could be this instead. I wondered if anyone knows if any normal motor spares supplier will have these Magnetti Marelli 100a alternators?

I've heard of Motor Factors being mentioned before but I've never come across them, is that a generic name for any supplier or a specific trade name? There other motor spares suppliers around here though. Is it a standard Range Rover type or a special one?

There were lots on ebay when I last looked.
Not sure if they are all the same, but lots seem to be of land/range rover v8's, but they're the right make and power and look the same from the 3" ebay pictures.

Thanks, mine from what I can see of the lable as it's partially covered looks like 29-98a not 2398 part number. This might just be the one MG use (might be exactly the same).
