Don't be a wuss. Get in there with a pecpad & do it.
I've got a 'rocket blower' - seems pretty good at shifting dust...
Worked for a couple of dust specs on mine too. No need to touch the sensor - or even get within an inch of it. Well worth a try before doing anything more serious.
