Thought I would perform some maintenance and have the rad re-cored since it was in a very bad state didn't want it letting go whilst driving. So removed it easily no problems and sent is away for the recore. £130 quid later
I have just gone to fit it and the bottom locating pegs now do not align into the holes in the fibreglass the rad seems to be 5mm wider?

Now do I simply enlarge the holes so the rad fits or send the rad back? I really don't want to spend the bank holiday without her?

What I cannot understand is how it’s managed to grow? Also I noticed when I removed it there were no rubber washers under the pegs I heard these should be there anyone know the size or where I ca get them from?

If, in the interests of "getting-on-the-road", the solution is relatively simple, just drill two-new holes. That is provided the wider Rad will still fits !!

For the "rubber washers" I would use rubber grommets that come in various sizes from motor accesssory shops, as well as Halfrauds (usually found in a rack-of-bits including electrical fuses, connectors, switches etc).

It's the right one. I am considering enlarging the holes to make it fit but I was wondering if this would cause vibration and hence failure. I'm going to put some rubber gromets over the pegs just need to know the size to use.

Does any one know if the top rad hose is TVR part only or Range rover part it doesn't look to good so going to replace this also.

Probably not. Most people in the industry do a one-in, one-out turnaround.

I always thought that you had to totally dismantle a radiator to re-core it. Take off the top, bottom and sides, then re-assemble arround the new core. Given the work thats needed, and the potential for small errors during dismantling and re-brazing, it would be quite likely that there been some small (5mm!) change in the overall dimensions. If it still fits in the front of the car, i'd just adjust the holes, if it's now too big, it'll have to go back!
