Just got a '99 996 and one of the air vents in the dashboard is broken - control 'lever' just flops around uselessly (don't you just hate it when that happens...) so not possible to redirect the airflow.

Anyone else had this (can't believe ours is alone in this, the whole arrangement feels flimsy to say the least) and had it fixed? Looks like it should be an easy (i.e. cheap) fix but when you factor in the words 'porsche' and 'dashboard' I suspect it might be anything but...

Cheers,

Chris

Sorry Chris , looks like it's not a normal breaker ... Mine's been no trouble , but I suppose I can offer you a friendly bump!!

I broke mine!

I tried to attach a cradle for an MP3 player and pushed the mechanism back and snapped it.

Replacement was fitted for about £70 ish

Now use the Porsche cupholder to hold the MP3 player!

Thanks guys, doesn't look as though it's as regularly broken as I thought it would be.

£70 is a bit steep, maybe I'll get used to it cooling my knees...
