Outrigger Refurb Question

I've got the sills off at the moment, and am happily rubbing everything down in preparation for painting. What have people done with the back of the outrigger plates? Can I take out the bolts and lift the bodywork enough to gain access? Or is there some crafty way of getting round the back?
Fortunately the outriggers only have a bit of surface rust, so the job isn't all bad.

i sprayed wax oil to the parts i could not get at with a paint brush

I took the rubber mats out to paint them completely. Together with the bolts out and lifting the body a bit will give you room enough. Did my plates at the front only, as I welded new stuff on at the back. Also replace all bolts with new.
