Anti Squeak Tape

Where can I get some of the clear tape dealers use to stop the targa top squeaking. Dealer I suppose if they will sell you some? Anyone else got another source?

hey bigGriff try vasalean or vasaleen or that petrolium jelly stuff,whatever its called or spelt it works a treat, just use a very small smear on the rubber seal,you cant see it and it stops all squeeks.

Unfortunately vaseline is a petroleum based product and will make the rubber seals harden over time!

I am looking for the 5mm clear tape the dealers shove between the various removable joints on the rear window and the roof.

I have used silicone spray from Halfords which does not cause the rubber seals to harden and seems to work well. I have had problems with the tape as it comes off at the edges and leaves small, unsightly pieces sticking out. I tend to take the top off virtually every time I drive and back on when I park, as a consequence it gets a bit of wear.

Did you have any joy finding this tape? My roof is rather squeaky at the moment. I've tried silicone lubricant and it stopped squeaking for a whole 10 minutes.

(internet sources probably easiest!)

I used Zymol 'Seal' in the end and no squeaks.
