I recon there must be quite a few people who now own tamora's who have come from chimaera's. My question is really having not driven a tam, how much of a step forward in terms of dynamics and general road manners is there from one to the other. I find the Chim a little crude at times and am hoping that the Tam is a step foward in this area. I know it's quicker and handles better etc. But does it feel like a big step forward when going from one to the other... Any help would be appreciated...

I've done it and its fantastic. yes the handling is better, much better. Yes its quicker, much quicker. Generally it brings the whole package up to date, because the Chim was essentially late 80s/early 90s technology and therefore everything is better, brakes, steering etc etc. You wont regret it.

Strictly speaking it wasn't a Tamora, but

Have a test drive - the newer cars are decades ahead.
As they should be, given the time difference...

Another vote for the Tamora being a big step forward. I've owned 4 TVRs (including Chimeara, Tuscan & Tamora) and have loved them all but the Tamora is my favourite.

For me it is the pick of the current litter and brings together everything I loved about the Chimeara and adds a whole lot more. You will miss the glorious sound of the V8 whilst idling, but once the Spd 6 is wound it up it just as intoxicating..

I took mine round the Alps with a pal in his Tuscan and the experience of the sweeping roads, stunning views and growling / howling speed 6s was one I will never forget.

i came from a chim to a tam but the things i found strange were the peddles and dont change gear going round a corner in the tam specially because thats what happened to me and that is what made me drift in to the side of a merc and spun round and the damage £9000 worth of it and it went off in feburary and still is not back yet.

Thanks for the reply's, I think I beeter test drive one, trouble is finding one to test drive. Sat is a T350 last week and loved the new style pedals and interior. James Agger has got a really nice looking one at the moment. I know that the later S6 engines seem to be a little better, are the 3.6's as in the tam better or the same reliability wise compared to the 4.0. Suppose the best thing is to factor in a rebuild into the cost of change then it's a bonus if it doesn't need one but not soo bad if it does.. As for the sound, I love the sound of the M6 six so hopefuly I will like the S6 too....
