never thought I'd see something that would make Fast and Furious look intelligent but the cars were nice

Is this the same Fastlane that we are getting in the US? Tiffany Amber Theissen? Bill Bellamy? If so, don't worry, the stories get better as the series progresses... (Well sort of, at any rate Tiffany keeps forgetting to button her shirt...)

Gotta be the worst mistake I ever made in my life, was selling my MACH1 .... But, I was young and stupid ...

Wish I could find another one to restore and tune!

Not too sure about the quality of the program, but the cars were certainly worth watching (GT40, Cobra, 550 Barchetta, Masser 4500 Spyder).

"Sad mode on":
The writers/producers must have been big fans on Miami Vice as I noticed several similarities to the MV pilot episode.

1 - Black cop from New York on the trail of his brother's killer.

2 - White cop a hit with the ladeez, and drives a Ferrari convertible.

3 - This is the bit that did it for me....a scene with a beautiful Itallian drop-top being driven at night with Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight playing in the background (a total copy of the pilot MV episode).

Gee, I thought I was the only one to notice that

Actually, during the first few episodes the story line are not great. However, as the characters begin to develop, the stories are getting better as well. There are a few memorable stories in the first season. Without giving a lot away - there is a good one about Van's father (a top conterfeiter doing time), a good one with the Russian mob (very good) and one concerning an old girlfriend of Hayes' (Bill Bellamy)...

...I like this concept a little better than "Vice" because (1)the cars, (2)TA Thiessen and (3)The Cars

Glad you recognised it too, ErnestM

However, nothing, and I mean NOTHING will ever surpass Miami Vice. I never grew tired of watching that black Daytona Spyder (even if it was just a re-bodied Corvette). In fact that's still one of the dream cars on my lottery winning list (and I'd probably drive it around with a Jan Hammer CD playing at full volume).

I'm off to go and lie down in a dark room.....
